This time, I will vote them best Japanese so I can preserve my other favorite Japanese dining room for best sushi. The inexpensive grilled items remind one of late night in Shinjuku, Shibuya or Ginza districts of Tokyo with a smaller crowd. The grilled kushiyaki selections are wonderful & are the epitomy of Japanese "Street" food. But this is street food worthy of a premium sake. Kampai!

They had me at Sweetbreads. But the seafood, rabbit and lamb are just as delectable. And the kitchen morphs new creations constantly - an important aspect of the New American kitchen philosophy that stresses fresh and local ingredients whenever possible.Sidle up to, and dine, at the impressive bar where you can get a nicer view of the goings-on. Stellar service on a par with the stellar food. And there's a winery on-premises; well actually, next door. But that's close enough. Bon apetit!
