A definate fave in small town Arlington, but especially with the kiddos...Run by a woman who surely has grandkids, this place absolutely caters to kids. Great kids menu, but best of all, the kids get to pick out their own icecream from a full icecream bar of flavors (not just talkin' chocolate and vanilla). It's kinda '50s retro (not loud and obnoxious like Chuckie Cheese), and kids just adore it. The "grown up" menu ain't nothing to turn your nose up at either; it's great to. I especially like their salads.

Lillian Thogersen has nine children, eight of which were adopted internationally, and is the current CEO of WACAP (World Association for Children and Parents), a nonprofit adoption agency based in Renton. Lillian was part of the small grassroots group of Washington state adoptive parents who founded WACAP (World Association for Children and Parents) in 1976. Her vision was “A Family for Every Child.
Since 1976, her Agency has placed over 10,000 children with loving adoptive parents and provided food, medical care and education to more than 200,000 children worldwide. WACAP is now one of the largest and most experienced international nonprofit adoption and child assistance agencies in the United States.
To help find forever families for its children, in 2005, WACAP created "QKids: A Family For Me. Each week, QKids features children in Washington state foster care who are in need of a permanent family. To date, 60% of the children featured on QKids have joined permanent families. Through this program,

Over a half million children live in institutionalized care in the Russian Federation. Under Lillian’s leadership, WACAP began working with Russia in 1993 and was the first agency authorized to place children from the Russian Far East with adoptive parents. In 1997, WACAP noted that the baby homes and hospitals in some areas did not have enough money to buy milk for all the children in their care. In response to this overwhelming need, WACAP created The Russia Milk Fund which has helped over 4,000 children avoided the tragic consequences of malnutrition.

These are only a few examples of Lillian’s accomplishments. There are so many more. She has done so much for disadvantaged children, here and around the world, it’s impossible to sum it all up in one little blurb.
