Located in the lovely Melrose Market on Capitol Hill, this little shop has a wide selection of hard-to-find cheeses and prides itself on local producers. The cheesemongers there are very sweet and knowledgeable about each cheese and its maker. And they now offer classes!

I've never had a sour barista here, and that's really saying something in the coffee world! I frequent the Victrola on 15th more often but work across the street from the Pike St. location. They each have their own little mood, but the important things stay consistent; best staff, good beans, tea, and pastries, and a warm cafe.
