As part of the Seattle dog training community we strive to offer unique and pleasant classes that take you from house training and basic obedience to fun and challenging subjects like Rally-O and Tricks. Beginning this summer we will train for Fly-ball! Our methods are humane and effective and our professional, certified trainers are friendly, knowledgeable and versatile. We use only safe, sound, science-backed training techniques to help you achieve a healthy, happy, well-behaved canine citizen.
In Puppy Preschool our trainers work with you to install the ABCs of puppy socialization and basic obedience behaviors. From puppy biting to leash manners, our people work to give you the skills you need to communicate clearly and reliably with your puppy what is acceptable and what is not. These lessons are continued in Puppy Kindergarten, or if your adult dog needs a little help with basic obedience skills, check out Primary School.
This summer we will start a class that focuses specifically on Dog Park Manners. As the title suggests, we will address all aspects of training your dog to co-exist amicably and confidently with his fellows in park society while you relax and enjoy all the advantages of safely walking in Puget Sound's various and wonderful off-leash areas such as those found in Magnuson Park and Marymoor Park. If you are having problems with lunging, barking, jumping or aggression, we also offer classes that deal with these specific behavioral problems. Our studio is clean, airy, and well-lighted in its easy-to-reach, easy-to-park location behind University Village. If you come from South Seattle, Seattle downtown, Queen Anne, Magnolia, West Seattle, North City, Lynnwood, Bothell, Kirkland, Jaunita, Bellevue and the eastside, or other areas of the Puget Sound complex, reaching us from the major arterials and freeways is as easy as reaching the University of Washington or University Village.

Terrific people, knowledge and service. Very approachable, responsive and positive-thinking. A great training school! I trust them completely with my new puppy.
Linda and Andrea are the BEST! They have always been so supportive and amazing to work with...I don't know what I would have done without their help and support in training my Newfoundland puppies. They create such a safe and nurturing environment to learn and train your dogs. I have been a loyal client/student and will continue to be. I highly recommend working with University Canine Learning Academy, and Linda and Andrea...they are absolutely amazing with incredible results!
Instructors very attuned to both canine and human students in their classes. Very skillful in teaching both species. Methods are gentle AND effective.
Linda, Andrea and Ruth have been great in helping me learn the best way to work with my rescued dog. They take the time to talk to me and explain, in detail, what I should do. They are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and have a clear love of animals! They have my vote and business!
the training at UCLA is positive reinforcement for both the dogs and the person. We only feel encouraged to work harder when we work with Linda and Andrea. We have fun at class and the dogs almost drag us into the building. You know they enjoy their time there.
I love the trainers-- both Linda and Andrea know their stuff! They are helpful, understanding, patient and encouraging. It is clear to me that they are genuinely concerned about the welfare of dogs and their owners. So far three of my four pups (beagles) have attended classes here and the fourth will be attending the next session. I followed Linda from the previous dog training facility she worked at : )
The staffs are very cheerful, friendly and treat dogs with positive energy and love. They are AMAZING!
Great results! Friendly and very caring toward animals. Positive learning environment for your pets
We have a wild and crazy Wheaten Terrier, who we thought would be a hopeless case forever. She jumped on people, barked aggressively at other dogs and ran at diesel trucks. While Emma the Wheaten isn't perfect, the trainers at UCLA really worked with us (Emma's owners) and Emma. That got to know us thoroughly and Emma is now a much better (albeit still crazy) dog. Bravo UCLA, Linda and her team of amazing trainers!
They've been doing a fantastic job training our new french bulldog puppy, Stella
I can't believe how much I learned. It's completely changed the way my dog and I interact. Now I'm on my way to having the dog I always dreamed of. Thank you! Linda is great and the extra time she spent answering my questions and helping me"get it right" made a huge difference in our lives.
Training at UCLA Dogs is a joyous and effective experience. You'll find that you really miss attending classes after graduation. Wonderfully perceptive and patient instructors, the best modern training techniques and an altogether comfortable atmosphere in a very pleasant studio. Highly recommended!!
The instructors are very educated and helpful with clear instruction and clear answers.
I didn't for a minute think I'd learn as much as I did or that I'd enjoy it. Linda and Andrea were great and I'm looking forward to the start of Puppy Kindergarten. Bring ot on.
Linda is great with dogs and their human companions
Linda and her team are amazing! Both of my dogs had classes with her and her positive methods have great results. I highly recommend them to anyone with a new pet, pets/people that need a refresher and people with dogs that need specialized attention.
Linda and team offer small classes and personalized attention I have taken both my dogs to her and always recommend her to others.
They make training your dog fun and really care about you and your dog. I have been to several training centers and Linda, Andrea, and Ruth make it positive and fun. My dog Diego is a new dog thanks to them!!
Knowing Linda she is absolutely the best trainer and
knows dogs from day one and loves to work with them.
Ruth
My 6 month pup and my family attended UCLA's Primary class. The staff at UCLA were highly skilled and made training and learning a blast. They provided a safe, fun, informative environment. After the six week training and a few months of continued practice my dog passed her Canine Good Citizens test!
