It was Brian's dream to open a coffee house that would serve the community as a meeting place where ideas, community, and business can take shape and thrive. Brian opened Tougo Coffee Co on march 31st of 2007, and then opened Tougo Coffee Co (T2) in the South Lake Union Hood in December 2008. It is Brian's hope to share his vision of community with dads, mom, children, and business people and to inspire a thriving environment in Tougo Coffee Co.
It is our hope that you feel as comfortable here as you do in your own home.
"Tougo" Toe-Go which is the name of Brian's son, The kanji (japanese writing) for his name means "to embrace diversity", The name also a represents The Voltaic peoples and the Kwa peoples of Togo Africa. These peoples were the earliest known inhabitants of this land. The Ewe followed in the 14th century and the Ane in the 18th century.
It's our goal at Tougo Coffee Co. to embrace our neighborhood and the diversity within it. We hope to do this by providing you with a comfortable atmosphere that is open to, and for all to enjoy.
Friendliest baristas anywhere. Like "Cheers"... with coffee instead of beer and Brian instead of Sam. Child friendly without feeling child dominant. Delicious coffee, of course!

This is where I buy my coffee to brew at home. Tougo Coffee is also a great place to go and hang out. There is even a room for kids to play, and an outdoor patio!
