Tom Leacy currently serves as principal of Decatur High School in Federal Way Washington. He has served in this capacity since July of 2003. Decatur is a comprehensive four-year high school, which serves nearly 1600 students on a yearly basis. Decatur offers a variety of Advanced Placement courses, several Career and Technical courses and provides curricular and co curricular opportunities in the arts, athletics and advanced academics.
With over twenty-seven years of experience in education, Tom brings a wealth of knowledge and background in working with today's youth. He has served as a Special Education Teacher (19 years), coached several sports (14 years), served as an Athletic Director (5 years) and for the past nine years as a building administrator.
Tom's educational background includes a Bachelors Degree from Washington State University (Pullman, WA), a Continuing Teacher's Certificate from Saint Martin's College (Lacey, WA) and a Masters in Educational Administration from the University of Puget Sound (Tacoma, WA)
Tom and his wife Lori are the proud parents of three boys. Two are currently enrolled in college and the youngest just began his sophomore year of high school. Tom has volunteered to coach a variety of youth sports in order to give back to those who supported him in his development and to have an impact on his sons and their peers.
