Tilted Thunder Rail Birds is a Seattle based, all-female, banked track roller derby league. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization run by a volunteer force of skaters and league members committed to promoting and raising awareness women's roller derby, especially banked track roller derby. TTRB is comprised of strong, friendly, intelligent, enthusiastic women from all walks of life pursuing emotional growth and physical strength by challenging their perceived limits. As a league, we also wish to promote mental and physical empowerment, development of skills, loyalty on and off the track, individuality, and friendship - throughout the entire sport, both locally and nationally.
But we do so much more than skate. Tilted Thunder strives to build affinity with other groups and organizations empowering women through education and athleticism with the hope of creating better communities for everyone. We offer our support, presence, time, and sometimes physical labor to a variety of causes to increase community involvement and our collective quality of life. This includes participating as fundraisers and direct volunteers with Lifelong AIDS Alliance, KEXP Radio, 5th of July Neighborhood Clean Up, Seattle Pride Parade, Japan Tsunami Fundraiser (put on by TTRB), Norse Home, and Girls Rock! Seattle. We even foster the next generation of banked track derby with our Junior Derby League, Tilted Thunder Rail Peeps!
