We make theater. Simple.
An actor-based ensemble, theater simple has been performing and touring internationally since 1991, producing over thirty-eight plays in four countries on three continents. Renown internationally for their literary adaptations, and new plays as well as their site-specific escapades, the ‘simpletons’ have crossed the globe, participating in arts festivals from east (Spoleto Festival USA, Charleston, South Carolina) to west (Perth International Arts Festival Fringe, Western Australia), the Far East (Singapore Arts Festival) and across Canada. We recently hit the 1000 performance milestone (!!) and are planning a two-month tour of Australia and New Zealand with an ensemble of 7 (and a repertoire of 5 plays) in February/March 2010.
Our goal – to affect the future by interacting with communities around the world, teaching, collaborating, conversing - linking ideas and art across the Internet, and in the theater. Thinking globally, acting locally – literally.
