The best little museum around. They do so much for the southern resident orcas in the way of education. I LOVE visiting there!

The exhibits are exceptional - everything from videos, artwork, skeletons, sounds of the whales, a kids room, a Native American room to bones and furs from seals. The people are very knowledgable and friendly. It's got a lot to offer on many levels.

They perform tremendously vital work everyday in making the South Resident orcas are safe and accounted for. They provide various information and status on the orcas, how to save them and encourage others in protecting all orcas around the world. The entire staff is professional, efficient, helpful and friendly all at the same time. They are good hearted people who care about our precious environment, bring hope for the future and perform the tasks necessary.

The Whale Museum uses cutting edge research to create fascinating exhibits that help visitors understand the marine ecosystem and wildlife, the plight of killer whales, and the indigenous culture of the region. The hands on activities at the exhibits help drive home their content for kinesthetic learners, and the specimens add important components for the visual learners. Auditory learners will enjoy the thought-provoking video clips of local scientists explaining their research with killer whales and other species of the region. The Whale Museum's involvement with marine stewardship and conservation does not stop at the door, however. The Whale Museum operates a large-scale naturalist training program, orca adoption program, education series, lecture series, and on-the-water monitoring/boater education program. The Whale Museum is a fantastic gem in a tiny corner of Washington.

Their Dedication to the Northwest eco system is wonderful. The museum is a great place for making the public aware of the delicate balance of nature and they work very hard to protect the endangered southern resident Orcas. I hope one day to be one of their volunteers as everyone there is so helpful and kind. I believe strongly in this cause and the Orcas have touched my heart and enriched my life. Their adoption program lets individuals and groups take an active role in the life of an individual Orca. I visit them at least once a year and stay in touch through my copy of their newsletter, complete with photos of whales I have watched in their natural world. This place and the people that work with the whales are doing a wonderful job!

Didn't even know they existed until I saw the video on San Juan TV.com. Went there and was not disappointed! Learned a lot about the whales and Salish Sea.

I recommend The Whale Museum because they help support the wildlife and they educate poeple the whales and everything about them. Whales are dying and they are keeping them alive. The Whale Museum helps people realize that soon whales might not exist.
