The Original Children's Shop opened for business in 1952, and was originally owned and operated by Vivian Kennedy. Karol Kucher, half of the ice-skating pair 'The Kennedy Kids', became an early and very loyal customer when she walked in the doors in 1954. She was looking for classic, traditional clothing for her first born son, and over the ensuing years, Karol clothed all six of her children from items purchased there... she loved the store so much, she opened her own store in Madison Park in 1993! She and her daughter Heidi Pray ran the shop until Karol's passing in June of 2004. Currently, Karol's granddaughter, Kate Etherington is the store owner, and so the family business lives on in Karol's memory.
