The Hangar Cafe

Category: Crepes (16 listings)

Justin Taft, owner of the recently opened Hangar Café, comes from an extensive background of coffee shop and café experience. He started his career several years ago in Portland, Oregon working as a barista for Coffee People. Starbucks was next where he began as a barista and was soon managing stores in Portland then Seattle. Justin furthered his career at Peet's Coffee and Tea, managing two locations in the Seattle area. Then he tried something a little different…high end chocolates. Justin was West Coast Area Manager of Neuhaus Chocolates for two years. His last venture before opening The Hangar Cafe was managing The Essential Bakery Company on Madison St. You'll see Justin behind the counter making your special crepe or sandwich.

I love the Hangar Cafe! I love Justin! I love the food! I love the servers! The crepes are extraordinary, luscious and gorgeous, the type of treat one dreams about for days and days (nay, weeks!) afterward. The seasonal pumpkin waffles stole my heart, and now that it's autumn, I can't wait to go back to see if they have them again like they did last year.

I can't praise this place enough. The friendliness and enthusiasm of the Hangar people, the charm of the restaurant, the intriguing variety of little airplanes that decorate the interior, the unique furnishings and artwork - all combine to create an incomparable spot that will give you a delightful experience.

A very highly recommended place. You'd be crazy not to go. I'd be going there now if I weren't on the other side of the world. :( You can't find any breakfast places here! Mmmmm... crepessssss.

I travel all the way from Shoreline to have the Hangar Crepe, which is my favorite. The Crepes are killer to say the least!

I am the type of person that won't order pizza or quesadillas in a restaurant, because I know I can make them better at home. I won't ever try to make crepes at home, solely because of the Hangar Cafe. I won't even bother ordering it in another restaurant, because I KNOW it won't compare to Justin's.... by the way, I am now in Denver, and the same goes here.... can you imagine my pain? I can't get crepes in the whole Rocky Mountain range because Justin makes his TOO WELL. Thanks, Justin, thanks a lot. P.S. I would like to vote for their blueberry coffee cake as best in W.Washington as well...

In the six months after our first vistt to The Hangar Cafe we only missed a couple Sunday afternoon brunches. We took everyone who visited us there. The food, atmosphere, servers and chefs are the best you'll find in Seattle or anywhere. In a time where good customer service seems to be rare, The Hangar Cafe goes above and beyond. A visit there is an absolute must - and don't be surprised if you become a regular. PS - You MUST have Stephanie's blueberry coffee cake!

I'm a regular at The Hangar Cafe. I'd go there even if they didn't have some of the best damn food in Seattle!! The Hangar Cafe is just a great place to hang out. The crepes are orgasmic, you gotta try the Hangar Crepe, it's da bomb!
If I'm feeling extra gluttonous(not uncommon for me), I have a Banana Walnut Waffle as an appetizer, then a savory crepe for the main course and wash it down with some of that killer Stumptown Coffee. The servers are always friendly, and they seem to know everyone's name, something you dont see much any more in Seattle.
If you like airplanes, you're in for an extra treat. You can watch all manner of aircraft(mostly smaller ones) take off and land at Boeing Field just accross the road, cool to watch.
So git your ass down to The Hangar and support small local business. Tell them PJ sent you!

I have to say this is one of the best places for the whole family when there are not as many options as there should be. My boys fully enjoy a whole crepe to themselves now! I try to get them to share but the crepes are too good to not get your own. I would personally suggest if you have never been to the Hangar, try the Hangar crepe, I mean what else! It doesn't matter that they don't have an "American breakfast" this crepe covers the bases and fills you up! They will even box up those lovely yummies to go when you are on your way to work!!

A good crepe is such a perfect meal and these crepes embody food perfection with the best ham, tomatoes and spinach. MMM... Great waitstaff and delicious lattes as well. Breakfast or lunch treats, got my vote!

Love this place. The "Hangar Crepe" is delicious, filling and tthey use fresh local ingredients. Friendly and warm service. I've had other items too like the lemon crepe, pumpkin waffle that melts in your mouth and the best reuben sandwich. Busy place but doesn't seem so bad with a cup of great coffee while waiting.
