The Balanced Athlete is a great store. The selection of gear is wide, up-to-date, and nicely presented, and the staff are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

It's also great with walking gear. I am not a runner, but walk to stay fit. There is an incredible selection of walking shoes and the most informed staff I have found.
