Teens In Public Service (TIPS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that offers youth, aged 15-19, rewarding and life changing work in the form of paid community service internships. The non-profits receive the teen workforce at no cost to them, and the interns gain a meaningful summer experience. TIPS interns tutor and mentor at risk children, serve the homeless, work in the health and environmental fields, and provide cultural enrichment and educational opportunities to children and their families in the Seattle area. It is our hope that the teens will choose to stay involved and become the leaders of tomorrow!
TIPS believes that by engaging young people in their communities today, we can produce a generation of leaders who are socially conscious and dedicated to service.
The TIPS interns gain much more than a summer paycheck; they develop job and leadership skills while our non-profit partners receive extra support to help deliver needed services to our communities.
TIPS matches the interests and skills of each teen with the needs of one of our partnering non-profit organizations. TIPS interns work with the homeless, tutor at-risk youth, care for the environment, gain hands-on experience in health and human services, and provide educational opportunities to disadvantaged children.
