Born from a love for life and all of its magical possibilities, the inception of Sweet Mona's developed from its owner's passion for chocolate and her uncanny ability to create delicious, enticing recipes. "Living the Sweet Life" captures the essence of this Whidbey Island chocolate boutique's exciting presence in the picturesque, seaside town of Langley, Washington.

A graduate of Ecole Chocolat in Vancouver, BC, Mona Newbauer continues to meet life's challenges with an open heart and keen eye. Always experimenting with new recipes and product ideas, this little jewel of a shop has expanded from its humble beginnings of selling its famously delicious handmade truffles at the local Farmers’ Market to a full service chocolate boutique that offers espressos, lattes, Italian sodas, gelato served in cups or handmade waffle cones.

This year after visiting Ecuador the origin chocolate bar was added to the mix to allow people to taste chocolate from around the world. The bar includes ten plus different fine flavor chocolate bits. An adventure in chocolate at Sweet Mona's or as a take home project to enjoy with friends.

Busting out at the seams from its first little storefront to the current space the shop now occupies in the heart of this idyllic coastal town, all visitors and guests who stop by can't help but feel the contagious excitement that Mona and her shop exudes - her happiness for life, its mysteries (and discoveries along the way), as well as her unending devotion to offering the very best in handmade chocolates, gelato, and coffee.

Sweet Mona's prides itself on the quality of its customer service and staff. With an extensive product line of chocolates that includes handmade truffles, caramels (both plain and sea salt), toffees and brittles, fudge, pecan clusters, and its very own seafoam, including many other uniquely crafted chocolates and sweets.
