Seattle Yoga Arts was founded in 1990 by Denise Benitez, from her heart’s passion to extend to others the profound benefits of the practices that had sustained her for many years. The studio has grown over time into a thriving, dedicated community of teachers and practitioners who are devoted to offering the highest quality yoga teaching possible.
Our teachers are all trained in an alignment based, heart infused method that makes the practice available and enjoyable for everyone. Our staff of talented teachers live their yoga, taking trainings from other teachers, studying on their own, seating their teachings in the practice of meditation, and always refreshing and refining the way they offer their instructions.
Our student body is a rainbow of human beauty: senior citizens practice beside tattooed blue-haired couples, and 15-year-olds come with their parents. We offer a style and level of class for everyone, from dynamic sweaty flowing practices, to gentle subtle work with the inner body. We know you’ll feel welcomed to our studio, and that you’ll have a superior yoga experience under the guidance of our excellent teachers.

The quality of instruction at SYA is superb and each teacher has something unique and special to offer. I say going to yoga is like going to church...it nourishes my body and feeds my soul.
