Poverty Bay Coffee Company

Category: Coffee Shop (163 listings)

After Poverty Bay Coffee Company was formed, our customers kept asking where they could buy our coffee locally. We soon realized that we needed a "showcase" for these marvelous, sustainably grown coffees. After a full year of negotiating construction hurdles and potholes, we nervously opened our coffee shop / deli in Federal Way, WA. Our first day was February 18, 2002 and it was an instant hit in the Federal Way community. Planning to create a great coffee shop that serves food, we wound up with an great menu of great food...and great coffee.

Organic shade grown coffee. Need I say more. And they pay their farmers a fair rate.

Poverty Bay offers the best shade and sustainably grown coffee around. Their relationship with the coffee producers has been a key element in the way they conduct their business and their commitment to the environment and the communities from whence the coffee comes. They use many exclusive and expectional coffees --especially from Nayarit Mexico and have a profound relationship with the communities in Nayarit; including visits to source and financial help. Let's hope they get the appreciation they so deserve.
