This Zoo is large enough to offer an awesome array of animals yet small enough to let you get really close to them. It's fun and affordable AND offers breathtaking views of Puget Sound, Mount Rainier and the Olympic Mountains! Come explore the only combined zoo & aquarium in the Northwest. You'll see seahorses and sharks, peacocks and penguins, wolves and walrus, all in one place. Visit the Asian Forest Sanctuary. Eight vanishing Asian species, including tigers and primates, inhabit this mysterious, multi-acre forest. The Zoo's Asian elephants also take refuge here. The Zoo is a national leader in captive breeding and reintroduction efforts for the endangered red wolf. We also work to help several other endangered species such as Asian elephants and clouded leopards.
We live in Edmonds, but we venture down to Tacoma for the educational and FUN zoo and of course, for the incredible Fort Nisqually. A must-do if you live anywhere in the western-Washington area.

not only do they have a great play area for kids that is surrounded by a great diversity of animals...they keep improving things! latest cool thing: a much larger (and more beautified) area for their red foxes (and pups)!

Okay, I get the whole kid focus here, but it's the one of MY best fun places, too!! :) Great changes to the landscape and habitats have only made this a better place to appreciate the animals...and you usually get to see come crazy cute critter out on a walk!!

plus the park is full of beautiful nature trails and beaches, i spent a lot of time there as a child myself.
