This Zoo is large enough to offer an awesome array of animals yet small enough to let you get really close to them. It's fun and affordable AND offers breathtaking views of Puget Sound, Mount Rainier and the Olympic Mountains! Come explore the only combined zoo & aquarium in the Northwest. You'll see seahorses and sharks, peacocks and penguins, wolves and walrus, all in one place. Visit the Asian Forest Sanctuary. Eight vanishing Asian species, including tigers and primates, inhabit this mysterious, multi-acre forest. The Zoo's Asian elephants also take refuge here. The Zoo is a national leader in captive breeding and reintroduction efforts for the endangered red wolf. We also work to help several other endangered species such as Asian elephants and clouded leopards.

Point Defiance has improved so much in the past few years, I am voting for this zoo over Woodland Park because of the emphasis they have made on making great habitats for their animals as well as focusing on helping endangered species.

We have purchased a membership every year for the past 3 years. We have watchedour kids grow through each phase, from not wanting to go to the zoo anymore, to learning the names of the animals and begging to return. We are so lucky to have such an amazing place to share with our children, and its amazing to watch the wheels in their heads turning as they explore and learn something new every time we visit!
