Artist Johanna Lindsay has been working with beads since childhood. In 2004, she launched Penguina Designs, where our mission is to offer beautiful, wearable jewelry that brings out the inner elegance and individuality of the wearer. Each item is its own work of art and no two pieces are alike.
Johanna's inspirations include classic movie-star glamour, the seasons of the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and her grandmother, whose appreciation for unusual, elegant designs is a reminder that jewelry is meant to bring out our individual beauty. Johanna especially enjoys developing pieces designed to compliment the styles of different women, from delicate and simple earrings to effervescent "charm necklaces" and statement-making hammered wire hoops.
Materials in Johanna's work include vintage beads, sterling and fine silver, freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones, her own custom designed hand stitched beads & lamp work beads, Czech glass and Austrian crystal.
