It's hard to believe that Pacific Fabrics & Crafts' family of attractive stores is the eventual result of selling rags, but that is our story. In 1917 Jules Glant founded Pacific Iron & Metal as a recycling center where metal and other items were collected, cleaned, packaged and sold throughout the world for reutilization. In the early days Jules would set out daily on horse and wagon collecting old scrap metal, bottles, paper and rags, returning to the "yard" with his wagon full. Jules passed his vision and dedication along to his son, and today his grandsons keep that vision alive in operating Pacific Iron & Metal.

They have an amazing staff, & recently hired a new manager that is awesome at giving creative ideas, and really knows her yarn, not to mention everything else in the store. It feels like a new store!

The staff is great, they recently hired a new manager, who is just beaming with energy with a crazy knowledge of the seattle music scene.

Pacific Fabrics is awesome because they have gorgeous fabric and are locally owned. The Northgate store is the best because it is massive, and the bridal section is so inspiring - I think I'm planning my wedding every time I go in. They have classes and yarn, too.
