n 1956, Egon and Laina Molbak came to rural Woodinville, Washington from Denmark. They dreamed of building a business based on Egon's love of gardening and plants. The discovery of a small greenhouse operation on approximately 4 acres of land allowed the Molbaks' dream to take root and grow... Molbak's flagship store is located in Woodinville, WA about 20 miles northeast of Seattle. In the early days of the business, Molbak's was a wholesaler of cut flowers. Then, potted blooming plants and annuals became Molbak's primary crops. The business flourished and in 1966 the decision was made to diversify. A 700 square foot retail shop was opened year-round.
