Nominated for: BEST Playground
Lincoln Park was called Fauntleroy Park until 1922, when the city bought it. The popularity of the name Fauntleroy in this area springs from the passions of Lieutenant George Davidson, who was taking soundings off the bluff in 1857. Davidson had temporarily left his fiancée', Ellinor Fauntleroy, back in Illinois.
Great for a short getaway on a sunny day. You feel worlds away from the city, but you're really only minutes away!

What a wonderful park...many trails for all levels of running and walking...when my mom was in wheel chair we used to drive down below where they have access for wheelchairs...it was easy and comforting!!

Be sure to bring some leftover bread for the Goose Crew that hangs out at the Fauntleroy Ferry! 2 domestic geese, a duck and some other kind of waterfowl that I can't identify.
