Nominated for: BEST Bakery
Opened June, 1983 Le Panier (translated "bread basket") was created by a Frenchman living in the U.S. who missed his daily baguette and croissant. He brought in French bakers and began baking... reflecting what you would find in a local boulangerie (bakery) and patisserie (pastry shop) in France.
Le Panier immediately became a popular destination for visitors to Pike Place Market, as well as our friends in Seattle. Located at the corner of Stewart Street & Pike Place, in the heart of the market, we celebrate twenty-plus years of serving you. We have worked hard to develop Le Panier into what it is today: a genuine taste of France.
The success of Le Panier is its consistent product quality - fresh ingredients, no preservatives, baked every day on site - always keeping in mind the traditional breads and pastries of France.

Love the bread. Nothing better than a nice crusty bread.

their parisian macarons are perfect...just like the ones in Paris. Their palmiers and josephines....yum. The employees are super friendly as well...who doesn't want to enjoy macarons while walking around in the market?
