They're the classic Seattle party band.
Even though it has been a while since I have seen them...they are still my favorite band!
They rrock!
Hit Explosion has always been consistently great. They have awesome singers and musicians and more importantly put on a energetic and enthusiastic show. Is it possible they may have put on a less than stellar show? Maybe. More likely someone in a crappy band is hating on them. Based on how many acts have tried to be just like them over the years they've probably had to deal with that a lot. Great band. Five stars.
Man - I was also at the aforementioned Indulgence Bash - I'm not quite sure what everyone's problem with that show was. Sure I'm a music geek who noticed that the sound was less than optimal - but giant glass walls and low ceilings are not known for being flattering to high-energy dance bands - that's just freaking physics.
And yes I did wander around and check out the other bands at the show - they were all great in their digs - but Hit Explosion just has more raw fire than any of them.
So flame away you poor people who obviously didn't get any New Years lovin' - Hit Explosion brings it!
Hit Explosion rocks! They are one of the very few bands that is a blast to dance to, and this band knows how to put on a REAL show. I recommend checking them out, the whole band is totally pro.
Why did I give Hit Explosion five stars? Well, I could say they are the Godfathers that invented the Seattle cover band scene, or that they are always a f*cking party -- yes.
But what makes Seattle's founding disco cover group worth five stars is that, unlike many other cover bands, they actually PLAY real LIVE instruments. No fake backing tracks kids.
So yes -- 5 stars to a great cover band. Even though they play disco!
I've seen this band over the years and yes, the singers have varied, but they always put on a great show. I actually like that they bring in fresh, young talent to mix it up -- like a pro sports team does.
This band has gone down hill since Mycle left. It's scary how this band still gets gigs based off past reputation when they clearly are not even close to being as good as years past.
Come on! This is THE Hit Explosion, "voted best live performance cover band" at least a decade ago with a more talented line up. You got to at least give them 2 stars!
Indulgence was a waste of money and this band should not have been there. The Retro's and Andy Stokes band were great. Whoever hired this band should be fired! Do they even play publicly anymore?
I had to write a review when I saw they were on here. I was with some of my girlfriends at the Indulgence party so I saw and heard them firsthand. We've seen them before and we like the disco music they play but only when it's played well. The band I guess used to be pretty big around here but not anymore at least the way they sound and look now. They obviously were having problems as that is the only way I can explain why they sounded so bad. There were many mistakes and the 3 singers, 1 male and 2 female were not very good. The band seemed lost during many of the songs and intoxicated otherwise. I guess we could have gone to another part of the party but we like this music, even when it sounds this bad. The cost for the party was really high for the entertainment and food that we got in return. Hopefully next year they do a better job with everything!
Looks like I'm not the only one who thought they stunk it up on new years. Who hired these guys anyway and what were they thinking? That smell on the waterfront will take weeks to go away! I'll give them 2 stars as the one chick in the groovy dress was hot, now if she could only sing.
I've seen them at Tulalip, NOT by choice. Always different members, talk about false advertising. I was with a large group that unfortunately was at Indulgence and was horrified by this bands presence. Do us all a favor and practice! I highly recommend going to see another band if you want to be entertained with good "music"!
OMG! This used to be a good band. We spent way to much to go to the Indulgence new years party last night and they were playing the 70's stage. When you pay that kind of money you expect to be entertained by a band that doesn't make mistakes and at least sound good. The band was o/k when they played together, the singers were horrible! Off key most of the night, they must have been indulging themselves with to much booze! Thank god for the Retro's, at least there was some good music booked for this party.
We see them at the Tulalip, I wish they would have the same line up as it changes every show.
remember back in the day at the Scarlet Tree? I loved them then, and I love them now. Rock on guys.
this band is fun and great dancing music
they're so fun!
Love these guys!
