Nominated for: BEST Couture
High Maintenance Bitch® has more celebrities that enjoy its products and more publicity than any other luxury pet brand in the entire pet industry. HMB is also the creator of the patented Pet Feather' feather boa collar for dogs and cats. High Maintenance Bitch® was started in 2002 by sister and brother, Lori Pacchiano and Ryan Pacchiano, in their grandmother’s garage in Seattle. The pair began by hand-making products for pets and selling them to local retailers. Their creations began receiving a windfall of national publicity and started showing up on the pets of Hollywood’s elite as well as being featured in countless TV shows. The brand was approached by Petco® within its first year to sell HMB Products. While the brand has received an unfathomable amount of publicity, including starring in the successful Bravo series ‘Showdog Moms and Dads’, and having Lori and Ryan’s first published book sold in bookstores nationwide, to date the HMB brand has never paid for advertising. In 2012 Lori and Ryan announced they were filming a new reality series about the HMB brand in partnership with Triple One Productions and Los Angeles based Film Garden Entertainment. Lori and Ryan (along with reality series co-star Melissa Kinzer) are represented by New York's prestegious N.S. Bienstock talent group which is consistently rated among the "Top 10 of TV’s Most Powerful". Both authors live in Seattle.
Sister and brother Lori Pacchiano and Ryan Pacchiano founded High Maintenance Bitch®, a manufacturer of sophisticated dog apparel and accessories, in 2002. With humble beginnings in their grandmothers garage, today they are considered leaders in pet fashion; their products have been available in hundreds of stores worldwide and theirs was the first pet company to be invited to be included in the Official gift baskets for the Golden Globes. With a large fan-base that includes countless celebrities, it is little wonder they have been featured in a plethora of magazines and newspapers, radio talk shows, and have been guests on such TV shows as The View and Tyra. They have hosted Access Hollywood and their products have been featured on Dateline NBC, The Today Show, The Simple Life, and The Osbournes. TV fans will also recognize Ryan and his dog Liberace as they were the stars of the Bravo Network's hit series Showdog Moms and Dads (which aired in 72 different countries and now airs on Animal Planet in syndication. The series was produced by LA-based production company 'World of Wonder' which is known for creating other such shows as Tori and Dean; Ru Paul's Drag Race; Flipping Out; and The Fabulous Beekman Boys). Entertainment Weekly rated HMBs feather boas as one of the Hot 100 products of 2002, and High Maintenance Bitch was nominated for the Seattle Mayor's Business Award in 2003. During 2004 HMB began opening the first chain of high end brand stores in the pet industry, and in 2005, Seattle Magazine named them two of the thirteen most Up and Coming influential people in Seattle as well as Seattles Best New Pet Boutique. In 2006, HMB celebrated the worldwide release of its new book The High Maintenance Bitch (owners manual), and calendar. In 2010 the company announced it signed a major licensing deal with east-coast based TUTM Entertainment (most recently known for expanding the Uglydoll Brand into worldwide distribution and winning it "The Specialty Toy of the Year" Award by the American toy industry) to design a new line of HMB products and expand the companies distribution channels.
