Great Food. Better Lives.
FareStart is a culinary job training and placement program for homeless and disadvantaged individuals. Over the past 20 years, FareStart has provided opportunities for nearly 6,000 people to transform their lives, while also serving over 5 million meals to disadvantaged men, women, and children.
By dining at the FareStart Restaurant, located at 7th and Virginia in downtown Seattle, you can enjoy delicious cuisine while also supporting a great cause. All proceeds from lunch and our Guest Chef Night dinners go back into the program to support our job training and placement programs.
A weekly highlight for the FareStart community is Thursday Guest Chef Night, held at the FareStart Restaurant. For FareStart students, it is a unique opportunity to work with Seattle's premier chefs. For FareStart supporters, it's a great chance to enjoy an excellent meal, introduce new supporters to the organization, or volunteer. Since 1994, Guest Chef Night has raised more than $4 million, revenue which has gone directly back into our program to support our job training and placement services.
Every Thursday night, a different Guest Chef works with the students to prepare a three-course meal for guests at the FareStart Restaurant. To view a calendar of upcoming chefs and restaurants visit www.farestart.org and click on Restaurant.
The FareStart Restaurant is open for lunch (Weekdays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.), and for Guest Chef Night dinners (Thursdays, 5:30 to 8 p.m.). For reservations and more information, call (206) 267-7601.
