A fixture in Fremont for at least 25 years, Espresso To Go has been serving the smoothest roast, fresh baked pastries and friendly neighborhood banter every morning since I was brought there as an infant. It's small, cozy, utilitarian, and one of the last bastions of the Old Fremont Bohemianism. Don't forget to rub the brass monkey before you leave.

I come here every morning. (Don't take my stool.) It is the center of my morning universe. Fresh baked goods. (You don't get this stuff anywhere anymore, period) Great coffee. Free therapy and well-coached critical self analysis. Just don't take my stool.

They really do have the best coffee in this coffee town. It has - for YEARS now - been utterly delicious and consistent. And the baked goodies are out of this world - particularly the chocolate cake. I have always loved ETG, and loved that they are still there - nestled in between the big guys who are busy burning their coffee.

Beauty, humor, intelligence, and some wicked good espresso... what more could a girl ask for in a coffee shop?

The muffins are fantastic. Everything there is delicious. It's one of Seattle's best kept secrets and I'm a little worried about telling the world how great it is because I don't know that I could take an empty muffin case.
