(avg rating of 78 recs) Write a recommendationBeing a fellow Chen Tai Chi practitioner, I must say that Kim Ivy is one of the most skilled, caring, and compassionate martial artists I know. She continues to be a lifelong student under Master Chen Xiaowang, and her dedication to the arts shines through her students. She brings love and light to all who study with her or know her.
I have known Kim Ivy and her school for many years We have had some of the same teachers. The principles are there and the passion for sharing, enormous.
Great job Kim!

Because Kim Ivy (owner and chief instructor) has been a martial arts instructor for decades and is the most compassionate and skilled teacher in Seattle. She embraces her community and gives 100% of herself every day!
I know the senior instructor well and she is an excellent Tai Chi practitioner and teacher. She studies with the most famous Chen Tai Chi master in the world... Chen Xiaowang.
Kim ivy is a dedicated teacher of Tai Chi and Qi Gong who is committed to teaching the purest form of the Chen style that she can. She is continuely seeking to improve her own form and skills.
I highly recommend Kim Ivy as an instructor and teacher in the martial arts, and specifically Tai chi chuan. Kim is an enthusiastic advocate and ambassador of the practice, an excellent motivator, both highly skilled and humble in her practice and has a deep understanding of how the different martial arts relate to one another. It is obvious after attending her classes for two years why the Chen family maintains such high profile contact with her dojo here on the West coast as it is an excellent venue for learning Chen-style tai chi. She upholds the legacy of this practice well and represents the teachings at a very high level.
Kim Ivy has a deep and comprehensive understanding of the health and martial benefits of Taijiquan and Qi Gong and teaches these skills in whatever contexts her students find themselves in.
it's the best
Embrace the Moon is welcoming to people of all ages, abilities, and creeds. The warmest, most supportive atmosphere I've ever set foot in, and the qigong classes there have been truly healing and life-changing for me.
I think Embrace the moon is one of the most serious places in the study of Tai chi, they have an excelent teaching group and the atmosphere is great
From the moment you step into Kim Ivy's Embrace The Moon School of Tai Chi and Qigong, your body relaxes. The Asian-themed art on the walls and sculptures lining the waiting area open up into a bright, clean floor space complete with a soothing bell.
The wide variety of teachers ensures that every interested disciple may find an instructor that suits his or her specific needs. The environment is challenging but encouraging, fun and relaxed.
This school has made a huge difference in my life--it has taught me so much more than just tai chi moves. Through its help I have learned to become a more relaxed person.
embrace the moon is a welcoming and friendly atmosphere where you can learn and practice the beautiful arts of Tai Chi and Quigong..Kim is an amazing person and instructor..she has so much knowledge to share
I have been studying Martial arts for years and have only recently joined the classes at Embrace the Moon, I am very impressed with the training/movement imparted at this school
The variety of classes for all levels and the holistic approach of instruction that leads to incorporating martial arts into everyday life makes Embrace the Moon the best!
Kim Ivy is inspiring, fun and a profound teacher. She has created a nurturing and encouraging, professional environment in which to grow and deepen the practice.
It's a great way to exercise, has improved my sense of well-being, and Kim is the best instructor!
