Dino received the first-ever “Defender of Liberty Award” from the Evergreen Freedom Foundation for being the architect of the most fiscally conservative budget ever written in the state.
He also received six different awards from the developmentally disabled community for protecting their funding – proving that it is possible to be fiscally responsible and still have a social conscience.
In 2004, Dino was twice certified as governor-elect of Washington state in what was the closest and most memorable governor's race in state history.
