Dilettante has been creating fine chocolates, coffee beverages and pastries for Seattleites for over 30 years. Founder Dana Davenport, third generation Chocolatier, draws inspiration from family history, records and hundreds of documented recipes spanning 108 years of creative tradition. The warm, Parisian-tinged ambiance, a small menu of light fare and creative coffee drinks provide ample reason to linger in this cafe over a book or with a friend. Everything chocolate here is an elegant balance of bitter and sweet. The Gateau Japonaise is a sophisticated blend of dacquoise (nut-flavored meringue) and génoise cake filled with hazelnut buttercream, while the Mocha Silk, a luscious flourless cake, is designed to make even the most discriminating chocolate lover weak in the knees.
