Voting Home / Deborah Page and Paul Uhl
Nominated for: BEST Local Bands
Deborah Page does all of the song writing. She writes the lyrics, the melody, and has the final say as to how the song will sound. On the album, "for," she did all of the vocals, the 12-string guitar, and even played part of the bass on the song "Crooked" because Paul couldn't figure it out. Deborah uses a vintage 1969 Ventura 12-string Acoustic Guitar customized with brass fittings. This is how she gets such a bright tone with endless sustain. She uses a Roland AC-90 amplifier, Rode NTK microphones, BOSS effects, and in the studio an M-Audio interface with mac computers and software. Paul Uhl handles the other stuff... His first love is the electric guitar. He also plays the bass, drums, and piano. He does all of the producing, mixing, and mastering. Our remastering is done by Pacific Studios, Tacoma, WA. Paul uses a 1998 Fender Stratocaster customized with Fender Vintage Noiseless Pickups, a Groove Tubes solid brass Fat Finger, and a custom vintage flame paint job. He also uses a stock Gretsch Electromatic Hollow-body guitar. For the bass Paul uses an old Peavey Fury that he bought an an antique mall for $80. Paul uses Fender amplifiers and currently uses a 2000 Fender Cyber-Twin. This 365 watt tube amplifier has all built-in effects and is capable of producing the sound and tone of every amplifier that Fender has ever made. For bass and backing track amplification we use an SWR Workingman's Combo 15. Paul uses a BOSS GT-5, DigiTech GNX4, Elecro-Harmonix Small Stone, and a Jim Dunlop Original Cry Baby for guitar effects processing. He also uses an ebow and a Joe Perry "Boneyard" Custom Slide. He uses DR "Pure Blues" size 9 guitar strings.
