Nominated for: BEST Music
I grew up in Seattle playing the guitar from the time "my Mom's old silvertone guitar was so fat I couldn't get my arm around it so I played it on my lap". She played and sang the blues and was my most important early influence. After hearing Larry Coryell and thinking that maybe one day I could play like that, I was hooked. (and I'm still trying!) After studying music Theory and Classical Guitar at Cornish School I performed the Rodrigo Guitar Concerto with the Port Angeles Symphony Orchestra. I recorded and produced the "Knapps Brats" album for Jim Knapp's middle school jazz band for the kids to raise money for a musical tour in Europe. The amazing talent, dedication, and sound of these kids was a huge inspiration! I have enjoyed performing throughout the Seattle area with many great musicians and over the last 12 years have focused on the amazing Jazz Scene here.
