The Comics Dungeon has been in Seattle since the early 1990s. The Dungeon was opened by Marv Brost, a definite icon in Seattle comics. Marv set the groundwork for this great store, establishing his business on the underground, adult and mainstream comics! After nearly 10 years of operation, Marv left the store and Steven Beard took over. Steve continued the energy in the store, his work at the Dungeon for nearly 13 years broadened its offering to include great toys, T-shirts and statues! In 2005, Scott Tomlin purchased the store and is excited to bring it back to the elite store in Seattle. Scott is putting the focus back on Silver-Age comics for the grown-up kids as well as welcoming families back to the industry. You will continue to see a great selection of Independent publishers, great T-Shirts and an awesome selection of toys and current comic books by the big guys.

great people, great selection ..... its a destination and its always improving. Nuff said! Comics Dungeon is the best in town hands down
The only place in Seattle with a good back issue selection and always go the extra mile to deliver the goods. Second to none.
Friendly, always helpful and recognize you the moment you walk in the store. More like an extended family, which makes it nice in these hard times when you have to dedide where you are going to part with your money.
This store is more than just comics, it's the people and their love for comics and great stories. I remember the first book I bought from the dungeon was low grade copy of X-Men #52. I paid $3 bucks and I was stoked because of the great conversation I had with Scott and Nicolette. They told me so much about the old books and I was a collector from that moment on. I have been collecting seriously for 3 years and spent a small fortune at the dungeon. My wife loves the way the staff treats our family and the other customers. I value the relationship I have with the employees at the store. John, the pricer, has an unmatched eye for books and their value. He always steers me right on stories and books that I would be interested in. The best thing about the dungeon is that they love books and they remember customers. Scott's got a great business and an even better staff. There is no comic shop in Seattle like Comics Dungeon. 5 stars all the way and to the employees I didn't mention, you also make CD what it is, a hallmark to Comic collecting in Seattle. Thanks you guys! Box 300!
The BEST comic store EVER!!!!!!
Best Comic Book store in the city. Think of any question possible about comic lore, history, trivia, industry, and or people; and the staff here will have the answer no matter how obscure it might be.
I also love the fact that they are super easy to get to. Quick on and off the freeway and always free parking close to the store.
Comics Dungeon always gets the comics that I want. They are also really helpful in making sure that you get the full story line for the cross overs. Ordering is simple and easy. I travel from Redmond to Wallingford for my comics, just because I like this store over all the others.
Friendly and helpful these guys have kept me excited about comics for over four years. Plus their box reserving system is the easiest and best way to get all your favorite books!
Best place, ever!!
I am a busy person but I love my comics and toys. Comics Dungeon not only is an inexpensive way for me to get my comics toys but it is the best way. I let the staff know what I like and they make sure the collectables I am interested in are waiting for me when I arrive for my weekly stash. No they are not like drug dealers and trying to get my last penny out but they are like best friends in the way they make sure I don't miss out on great opportunities. Great selection! Great service! Great people! If only all dungeons were like the Comics Dungeon!
Long time customer and going to be for a long time still :)
ONCE UPON A TIME, I shopped at a comic book store on the Ave. When new ownership arrived at that store, the focus changed and gone were the days of talking to the owner about all things comics. In fact, the new owner didn't seem to know all that much about comics. It wasn't his main focus. Keeping the previous owner's stalwart clientele wasn't high on his "to-do" list either... Soon my frequent/return shopper discounts dwindled with silly little "if this/but that" exceptions to what I had grown accustomed to.
I fumed and immediately started looking for a new comic book store to shop at. Thank goodness the first place I stepped into was Comics Dungeon! I walked up to the counter and stated something like the following:
"I just broke it off with [censored] Comics and need a new place to shop. What kind of discount can you give me?"
The answer was a doubling of the discount the other place had been giving me.
"Okay... does that discount work on everything I buy?"
Yes, everything.
"Is there a minimum number of titles required to receive the discount"
No.
"Sign me up, immediately!"
No problem!
Nearly ten years later I am still happily shopping at the Dungeon. The staff are likable, sociable and intelligent comic book/genre fans that can and will talk with you about anything. Their suggestive selling is always spot-on and in no way annoying.. ever! The new owner is a comic fan from the '80s like myself, has streamlined the store and every few months puts on a great store wide sale.
Easily the best comic book shop I have frequented and I've been at this awhile!
This place keeps my husband occupied for hours. It is by far his favorite place in the city!
Look, I am not going to lie, I have had some major disappointments with the store. I have left a list if you care to heed the warning.
MAJOR DISAPPOINMENTS:
-Always bombarding my email with information I need, like pre-orders, up coming events, The "Disintegrator", etc.
-Constantly discussing, in depth, different writer's interpretation or character portrayal. The nerve of these guys to befriend and converse with me.
-Deep discounts that could jeopardize their business, thus endangering my future busines with them via their subscription service that I utilize. Where would I go if they were to close shop? THE SELFISHNESS.
-Let's not forget that everytime I come in there with my kids, they are totally inviting and friendly. They even let them touch the toys. I don't even let them touch the toys!
-Huge selection that causes me to over spend, because I need what they have. It is taking advantage, it really is.
-Finally, just once I would like to not be greeted when I walk in.
Hopefully you will be as dissappointed as I am.
We all build our own dungeons. Mine has comics in it. And I didn't really build it. I think it was built before I was born, but I think we all know what I am trying to say... or rather, type: the Comics Dungeon is my "dungeon".
Metaphorically speaking
A great place to shop for all comic fans. All the employees seem to have a genuine interest in the genre and are always willing to help find whatever your looking for. Whether your there just to browse or you're a weekly regular it's always a pleasant atmosphere.
The best comics shop in Seattle, bar none. Excellent, knowledgeable staff and a tremendous selection of back issues makes Comics Dungeon one of my favorite places to go every week.
Chris and Nicolette make the store rule. Always great for good deals, friendly service, and a nice mix of indy and mainstream fare. I love it there!
Comics Dungeon provides weekly news for upcoming news, events and merchandise. Their knowledge of comics and comics history is unmatched anywhere.
Excellent selection, unsurpassed comics knowledge. This store is run by unintimidating educated comics fans who will order anything for you, if you don't see it in the store. Subscribe to the Comics Dungeon email rant for information on and links to what you should be reading!!!
This is the standard to which all Local Comic Shops should aspire... Great selection, friendly, knowledgeable staff, and the best subscription service i've found anywhere. To put it another way: Comics Dungeon FTW!!1
Great personal attention to every customer from a very friendly staff. As if that wasn't enough to convince me this is the best comics shop in town, they also have the best subscription service of any shop I've ever seen. If you're a fan of comics and you haven't been to the dungeon, you're not doing it right.
