The Comics Dungeon has been in Seattle since the early 1990s. The Dungeon was opened by Marv Brost, a definite icon in Seattle comics. Marv set the groundwork for this great store, establishing his business on the underground, adult and mainstream comics! After nearly 10 years of operation, Marv left the store and Steven Beard took over. Steve continued the energy in the store, his work at the Dungeon for nearly 13 years broadened its offering to include great toys, T-shirts and statues! In 2005, Scott Tomlin purchased the store and is excited to bring it back to the elite store in Seattle. Scott is putting the focus back on Silver-Age comics for the grown-up kids as well as welcoming families back to the industry. You will continue to see a great selection of Independent publishers, great T-Shirts and an awesome selection of toys and current comic books by the big guys.

I started going to Comics Dungeon a few years ago because I knew they carried a wide range of back issues and collectible comics (in addition to new comics). I found the atmosphere warm and inviting. Chris and Nicollete have alot of knowledge and opinions about comics and will steer you in the right direction if you are a new reader. They are constantly acquiring new collections and are well stocked in both Marvel and DC trade paperbacks. If you need something to do on a Sunday, take your kid and buy some comics at Comics Dungeon!
The staff sets the standard for customer service! What the don't have, just ask, they'll track it down for you. I've shopped all the rest, but I'll stick with the best:

We've been shopping here for years. We've had a box for a long time, and the staff always is helpful, knowledgeable, and indefinably cool and nerdy at the same time.
They have a great selection of comics and some of the best and friendliest staff I have ever met.
The best shop in Seattle area, period. Well-informed and friendly staff, who are not afraid to share their opinions (and tell you why they have them). Their subscription box program is top-notch and the recommendations the staff makes are always excellent.

I love going to the Dungeon because they are always friendly and go out of their way to get what I'm looking for, even if they don't have it in stock. Also being a woman who reads comics, I enjoy the fact that none of the employees treat me as if I don't know what I'm talking about, unlike Xanadu or Arcane Comics have done in the past.
comics dungeon is the first comic store i went to in seattle and has had my business ever since. the dungeon has literally gotten thousands of dollars from me and have not regretted a single dime. the staff is fun and knowledgeable and often makes great suggestions based on customer tastes. they have looked out for me again and again with a hard to find comic or action figure and i just want them to be recognized for their great work. other stores may be more flashy or bigger or not have the ceiling come down due to water damage(yes, i brought it up. but it was a great sale and makes for a great story), but the dungeon is where i keep coming back religiously. i can't imagine a wednesday without it.

We don't really live near Comics Dungeon, but its well worth our drive to get to this store. The staff is awesome, and they always have a good recommendation for another series for me to get addicted to. Good stuff.
Excellent store - I've been going to comic shops in Western Washington for over 20 years and by far the best staff, service and selection.
I tried a few other comic book stores and never received the type of warm and welcome experience that I get when I go into Comics Dungeon. The idea of going into a comic book store and talking to people about books, writers and artist is one of the best things. It is why I still do not use an online ordering to get my comics via mail. I love going into Comics Dungeon. I live in the West Seattle and sure there are other shops that would be closer, but I drive the extra distance for the welcome atmosphere. I love the fact that I walk in and I am recognized - it makes my day and I cannot think of going anywhere else for my Comics.
these guys r great with their awesome grading and fair prices, giving discounts for being a regular customer. ive been to most of the other places but comics dungeon is the one i frequent the most. thanks a lot guys!
Comics Dungeon has always been the place to go for everything related to comics in Seattle. I always feel welcome, and the folks who run the store know their stuff, and are always happy to help you find what you want, or just recommend something new for you. They haven't missed one yet for me. I always end up leaving happy.
In addition to the big comic companies, Comics Dungeon carries a wide selection of independent comics. Knowledgeable, friendly staff.
Comics Dungeon happens to be the heart and soul of the Comic Community in Seattle, and even the Eastside - I've been a loyal fan of the place for the last six years. The staff is top notch - and I can guaranteed you you'll learn something new every visit, from obscure little comic character details or events to trivial facts that were lost somewhere in the years. No matter what, this is a store that welcomes all ages - a place where is magical, and takes you away from the daily routine. Thank you, Comics Dungeon!
Everytime I come in with my boyfriend (box 401) the staff is very friendly; they add a special touch of customer service I don't witness very often! I love it there and go every chance I get!!

I love "The Dungeon" & on the rare occasion we don't make it in, there's a huge blank spot remaining 'til next time. The owner Scott, is a really cool guy who obviously loves comics and he has a fantastic staff. We deal mostly with Chris & Nicolette, who are extraordinarily knowledgeable about all things comics. Chris will give recommendations to customers based on individual preferences and Nicolette is always ready to chat and offer her thoughtful insights. The store itself is easy to maneuver even though it's packed with everything you could want. But if it happens that the last one was just sold, Chris will get right on it and order for you. It's a pleasure to do business with Comics Dungeon.
There is no vote. Comics Dungeon is, without a doubt, the absolute BEST comic shop in Washington State. Not only do they have an incredibly attractive and knowledgeable staff, but their back issue and current comic selection is unparalleled in the city. Comics Dungeon offers the best subscription service, best conversation, and best all-round comic experience that Seattle has to offer. I would like to thank them personally for making Seattle a great place to live!
