The Comedy Underground, founded in 1981, is Seattle's original comedy club. After 27 years at the same location on Main St. in the historic Pioneer Square district, the club, along with partner Swannies Sports Bar, has moved to 109 S. Washington St. at Occidental Park, also in Pioneer Square. The club is now located, appropriately enough on the back side of the Buttnick Building. The Comedy Underground has shows 7 nights a week, and has provided a jumping-off point for the the careers of several generations of famous comics, including Jerry Seinfeld, Dana Carvey, Patton Oswalt, Dana Gould, Larry Miller and many more.
