The SweetSide is a Seattle based custom cake and dessert bar studio where every bride is treated like the only bride.To ensure each couple's style and taste is executed perfectly, we accept a limited number of weddings each year.

A note from Kara:

Some kids grow up catching frogs and doing ballet, but you were more likely to find me playing in the kitchen, elbow deep in flour and sugar. I have been baking longer than I can remember and can't think of many things I enjoy more.

I fell in love with the art of decorating at a young age watching my mom take tiers and tiers of plain cake and turn them into a masterpiece of fluffy white flowers and design. After college, and a career in public relations and advertising, I began tinkering with the idea of opening The SweetSide. A few years later, I have studied at the amazing Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Arts in Toronto and cannot imagine a career in anything else.
