Nominated for: BEST Local Bands
A vote for Becki Sue & her Big Rockin' Daddies! is a vote for "THE BLUES"...
Becki Sue & her Big Rockin' Daddies! plays original and traditional high energy, low down electric blues that has the crowd up and dancin' from the word "Go"! Becki Sue, an award winning blues vocalist and entertainer, has a vocal style reminiscent of the greatest of the female Texas-style blues belters. She is supported by a veteran cast of multiple award-winning blues musicians that includes Tom "T-Boy Neal" Boyle on guitar; Jim King on tenor sax, blues harp and vocals; Les "WildChild" White on upright bass and vocals; and Jeff Hayes on drums. The band has won and been nominated for numerous awards, both individually and collectively, from The Washington Blues Society (WBS), Oregon's Cascade Blues Association (2008 Best Regional Band), The Inland Empire Blues Society(Best CD 2007), KING 5 TV (#1 Best Band 2008) and Sonic Bid's "Blues Artist On The Rise" series. They have traveled as far as Clarksdale, Mississippi, Helena, Arkansas, and Memphis, Tennessee for juke joint gigs and blues festival performances. In 2007, the band performed on the "world famous" Beale Street in Memphis as competitors in "The International Blues Challenge", representing the Washington Blues Society as that organization's "Blues Band of the Year". The band continues to perform regularly at blues festivals and clubs in Washington, Oregon, Montana and beyond. They will make a trip to San Felipe, Baja for The International Blues & Arts Fiesta in March 2010! Their latest cd, Big City Blues, is being played on radio stations both locally (KPLU, KSER, etc) and worldwide, including XM/SIRIUS Satellite Radio's "Bluesville 74" with famed DJ, Bill Wax. The disc reached #6 on that stations Blues Charts in October of 2007. In 2008 the cd captured the "Best Blues Recording" BB Award presented by the WBS. "Big City Blues" continues to receive accolades from local and national publications as well as radio DJ's worldwide. This is a must see band in a "live" setting. The following is a quote from Alligator Records president and founder, Bruce Iglauer. "Overall, I found "Big City Blues" a very enjoyable album ...very tasteful playing and an obvious love for the (blues) tradition in a lot of different styles. This is a band that I'd enjoy a lot live and could heartily recommend to any blues fan".
