Dogs and puppies love the positive dog training classes at Ahimsa Dog Training. Their owners love the flexibility to start classes right away and the peace of mind that comes with having a well-trained dog.
Main location: Seattle. Classes also held in Bellevue.
The Ahimsa website (DoggieZen.com) has loads of free tips for dog lovers in their blog and online forum. You can learn how to teach your dog to fetch, walk well on leash, or come when called with info from the website.

I have taken my dog to Ahimsa a few times and the facility and trainers are great!
Grisha helped me make my 3 year old Golden Retriever the gentleman he is today. I can take my dog anywhere and have him follow directions and be polite. (not the easiest task for a young Golden) I would highly recommend this positive and effective school.
Grisha has been wonderful with our puppy. My young teen son took the class with me, and Grisha was very patient in helping him train our dog. The experience was very positive in his taking responsibility. Mireille has also been very helpful and knowledgeable.

Girsha has expansive knowledge of dog/pup behavior and I can't imagine going to anyone else.
I tried a pet store puppy training class for my 10 week old Boston Terrier - HORRIBLE experience! I then tried Ahimsa and it was a revelation. From orientation to graduation, my puppy and I loved it there. The classes are small, you can attend as many a week as you want (no extra cost) and the instructors and volunteers are fabulous!

Great learning atmosphere and helpful, knowledgeable staff and trainers. Lily enjoyed class every week and actually would chortle when we approached the drive to the building. She was excited to see her new friends and ready to learn new commands. Gentle, yet effective training techniques are used.
Grisha Stewart's Ahimsa Dog Training is the greatest. She helped me so much with my abused rescue dog, Romeo. With her help he got over his severe separation anxiety, and was a star pupil in her beginning obedience class!
Grisha and her staff truly love dogs and only use very positive training methods. I have recommended her time and again and will continue to do so!!! Vote for Ahimsa, or better yet, go there yourself with your dog and see what the fuss is about! Easy Ballard location!

Great ideas, great people, and you end up with great dogs! I want to specifically call out the Behaviorist Kathy Sdao that works there--she is a quick and clear resource that will give you the tools to make possible you only dreamed of! Really, go now! I wish I had sooner.
Rachel who teaches the Seattle Doggie Manners classes is wonderful. The philosophy behind Ahimsa's dog training is right on, builds a great relationship with you and your dog, and is a lot of fun! Check them out.
