A Canine Experience Inc. is pleased to be your full service dog center, offering professional and caring help to owners and their pets. Our priority is the well being of your dog and your family.

A Canine Experience, Inc. opened its doors in 1995 as a dog trainer school when Nancy Baer realized there was a great need to educate people who wanted to become professional dog trainers. A Canine Experience, Inc. boarding and training facility was added in 2001. May 1st, 2010, the daycare, pet supply store and cat boarding were opened.

Currently A Canine Experience, Inc. is co-owned and operated by Nancy, her three daughters and granddaughter who have been training under her for many years. Andrea Baer has over 15 years training experience and Trina Eddy has over 20 years training experience. Jessica Brill and Autumn Baer actively participate in the daily operations and are in the process of mastering their training skills.

Nancy Baer and Trina Eddy present a variety of informational seminars for group functions, shelters, associations, etc. Subjects taught include: dog etiquette, forming a working relationship with your dog, problem solving, understanding dog behavior, dealing with aggression, the responsibilities of a foster and more. Since 1986 owner and founder Nancy Baer, co-author of “Leader of the Pack” and ”Choosing a Dog”, author of “When Friendly Dogs Bite” and “The Dangers of Ignorance,” has worked full time training thousands of dogs and owners giving her experience with all types dog behavior problems.

Nancy’s expertise in the show ring has earned a number of titles in obedience, agility and conformation. Pioneering a unique project for well known wineries has given her insight and expertise in training scent dogs.

Trina has carried on Nancy’s passion for scent work and has trained dogs to search out drugs, explosives, mold, personal items such as a cell phone and keys and is currently working on a conservation project teaching her personal dog, Bridgette, to find turtle nests. She incorporates scent work into her obedience classes, because she finds it to be a fun and successful way to create a working relationship with your dog, lengthen dogs attention spans and build confidence. Trina has been teaching classes at A Canine Experience since 2005, helping hundreds of owners understand dog behavior and learn how to train and live with their dog(s).

Trina began training dogs in 1987 for a large training facility that specializes in rehabilitating dogs with severe behavior problems. She has always been very passionate about animals, was very involved in FFA and 4-H in her youth, earned money to pay for her own horse by caring for neighbors pets, cleaning horse stalls and assisting in horse training. Her animal training, handling and care taking experience is well rounded including horses, dogs, cats, goats, pigs, sheep, rabbits and poultry. Trina implements her life experience and works with Nancy to continue teaching others who want to become dog trainers or start a business as a care taker (pet sitter, dog walker, veterinary work etc.).
